Arunachal University of Studies, established by the Government of Arunachal Pradesh under “Arunachal University of Studies”, Arunachal Pradesh Act 2012 (Act No. 9 of 2012), which received the assent of His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh on May 26, 2012 and published in the Arunachal Pradesh gazette on May 30, 2012 vide Notification No. LAW/LEGN–11/2010

Arunachal University of Studies is the first University of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh. The University is incorporated with an objective of providing high quality education supplemented with industrial internship and professional training in the area of business & management, engineering & technology, hydel-power, training & development, computing & information technology, entrepreneurship, rural development, biotechnology, biosciences & environmental sciences, architecture, media & communication, film & television production, basic sciences, medical & paramedical, humanities, juridical sciences, life sciences, liberal art & sciences, performing arts, nursing, quality training & development of State Government officers, etc.

Arunachal University of Studies comes u/s 2(f) of UGC act and is empowered to award degrees specified in section 22 of UGC act of 1956. Apart from it, the University is empowered to award diplomas, charters, certificates, pre-University certificate and other academic distinctions in conformity with the provisions of the Arunachal University of Studies Act (Act No. 9 of 2012).

The University is open to all irrespective of caste, class, creed, religion, region, language, and gender. The main campus of University is situated in Namsai, District Lohit, and Arunachal Pradesh. Namsai is known for its ethnic, linguistic, cultural, religious, and physiographical diversity. The current five-year plan of University includes a sprawling green eco-friendly campus. The campus is exceptional both in terms of its physical beauty and infrastructure including a multi-storied complex with good IT enabled services, academic blocks, auditorium, conference cum seminar halls, audio visual recording room, and other facilities. The processes from admission, examination to result declaration, courseware packaging, and dispatching are also computerized.

Namsai is a place where one is away from the world, yet a part of it. The main campus of University is less than 2 hours from Dibrugarh Airport and around 1.25 hours from Tinsukia Railway Station. From connectivity point of view, Namsai is one of the most accessible places of Arunachal Pradesh.

The University has provisions for Exchange Education programmes on the mutual equivalence and recognition of credits of other universities, institutions, colleges, industrial organizations, professional organizations, societies, trusts, NGOs, associations, schools, government organizations, semi-government organizations, private organizations, and public sector organizations of India as well as abroad. The University will accept already earned credits by the candidates after recognition and establishing equivalence of such credits with each of the aforesaid bodies on individual basis. Students can complete the total number of credits either in the University or in the aforesaid association recognized for the purpose of exchange education or in both in full or part. Such students are entitled for joint certification from both University and aforesaid exchange education association in same period of study.

The University has continuing education programmes, which will provide a chance to the discontinued students to continue their studies in an institution/ a department/ a faculty/ a college/ a school of the University. Such students will get exemption on previously earned credits from previous institutions from where they discontinued their studies and study the remaining credits in the Institution/ Department/ Faculty/ Colleges/ Schools of the University in which they are continuing their education.

The University has also started skill development courses as it is very effective and an efficient methodology of educating people with the help of real time working environment. This mode of education is necessary for country like India because it serves dual purpose of best utilization of educational resources and adequate human resource development. As per the research, classroom teaching model of education has not proved to be very successful and is now becoming outdated in many developed nations. The reason behind this is that a student only gets theoretical knowledge in classroom teaching model whereas we have proposed to provide candidates both classroom as well as practical training sessions through which candidates would be able to accommodate in a desired industry and always have an added advantage when compared to any student who has not undergone such a model. It strengthens the University learning experience by combining practical skills with the study of concepts from various disciplines. At the completion of course, a student will be able to apply the acquired skills more effectively in any field which he/she desires. The overall mission & vision of the University is to provide high quality education supplemented with industrial internship & professional training for holistic development of the students and the nation.

Associate Professor

Qualification & Experience:

  • Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines.
  • A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
  • A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers
  • Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students
  • A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in Appendix III of UGC regulations on minimum qualifications for appointment of Teachers and Other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the maintenance of Standards in Higher Education, 2010

 

Assistant Professor

Qualification & Experience:

  • Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
  • Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
  • Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) to this Clause 4. Candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions
  • NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

 

 

Librarian

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Library Science /Information Science/documentation with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven points scale and consistently good academic record set out in these Regulations
  • At least thirteen years as a Deputy Librarian in a university library or eighteen years’ experience as a College Librarian.
  • Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work.
  • Desirable: M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in library science / information science / documentation / archives and manuscript-keeping.

 

Deputy Librarian

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in library science/information  science/documentation with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record
  • Five years experience as an Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian.
  • Evidence of innovative library service and organization of published work and professional commitment, computerization of library
  • Desirable: A M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree in library science / Information science / documentation / archives and manuscript-keeping/ computerization of library.

 

 

Assistant Librarian

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and a consistently good academic record with knowledge of computerization of library.
  • Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC.

 

 

Registrar

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of 'B' in the UGC 7 point scale; along with
  • At least 15 years’ of  experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 7,000 and above or with 8 years’ of service in the AGP of Rs. 8000 and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration, or
  • Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education, or
  • 15 years' of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.

 

Deputy Registrar

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of 'B' in the UGC 7 point scale; along with
  • Nine years' of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 6,000 and above with experience in educational administration, or
  • Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education, or
  • 5 years' of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post.
