The Department of Pharmacy was established at the Arunachal University of studies in the year 2019 with the prime objective of providing the best pharmacy education in the North-East region of India, to develop efficient & confident pharmacy professionals by imparting professional knowledge while giving them the appropriate practical hands-on experience of the field, to maintain the pharmaceutical education at par with the other leading institutes providing similar education in the field, an up-to-date research in order to provide technical standards and manpower in the area of pharmacy, and, also to promote research and development activities, Social Harmony and peace in health care system in North East India.

The Department of Pharmacy at the Arunachal University of Studies, Namsai, had simultaneously introduced two main courses in the stream; the first one is the Diploma in Pharmacy and second one being the Bachelor of Pharmacy courses. Each the Diploma and the Bachelor courses having an intake capacity of 60 students every year. The Pharmacy Courses are duly approved by the concerned governing bodies namely the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) & the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). The department of Pharmacy along with the basic learning in the field of pharmacy also provides incorporation of extracurricular activities along with the courses like regular health camps, extempore speech programs; Quizes etc., are organized in the department at regular intervals. Every year on the 25th of September is observed and celebrated as the World Pharmacist Day in the department of Pharmacy. The Department of pharmacy at AUS has the entire modern and sophisticated well established laboratory. The Department offers subjects like Pharmaceutical Analysis, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Biotechnology, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology, Forensic Pharmacy, Pharmacognosy etc.

The Arunachal University of Studies is one of the leading institutes in North East India with an exceptional curriculum designed for the Department of Pharmacy to prepare quality pharmacists for the future with professional capabilities which would play a major role in health care system of the North-East region and entire country in the future. Not only in health care system, pharmacist also plays a vital role in the society, as a community Pharmacist or as in Hospital Pharmacist instructs and counsel on the proper use of medicine, its effectiveness, any related adverse effects to the society or to the concerned common people.
