Programme title is approved under University Grants Commission (UGC) Act 1956. Optional Early Exit Certificate after 3 Years - B.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) |
Bachelor of Science (Hons. - Mathematics) is an undergraduate academic degree programme that focuses on the study of mathematical concepts and their applications. The Arunachal University of Studies is offering this programme in dual mode i.e. B.Sc. (Hons. - Mathematics) & B.Sc. (Hons. Research - Mathematics). This degree program typically takes four years to complete and is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in pure and applied mathematics. The Students of this Programme will be eligible for pursuing 1 Year Master of Science (Mathematics) programme from the University. Also, the students who will score more than 75% or equivalent grade in programme will be eligible for pursuing Ph.D. programme directly without Masters Degree.
The curriculum of a Bachelor of Science (Hons. - Mathematics) program includes core courses in calculus, linear algebra, abstract algebra, real and complex analysis, topology, and differential equations. Students may also have the opportunity to specialize in areas such as number theory, algebraic geometry, combinatorics, mathematical physics, or mathematical finance through elective courses and research projects.
The program emphasizes analytical and problem-solving skills and includes a significant amount of theoretical work, as well as hands-on learning through laboratory work and research projects. Graduates of a Bachelor of Science (Hons. - Mathematics) program have excellent analytical and quantitative skills and are well-equipped to enter a wide range of careers, including research and development, engineering, finance, teaching, and data analysis.
Many graduates of this program also choose to pursue further education at the graduate level, including a Master's degree or a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field. Higher education can lead to careers in research, academia, or other specialized fields that require advanced mathematical skills.
The Candidates willing to exit Bachelor of Science (Hons. - Mathematics) programme after three years may apply for B.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) Degree from the University. It is an undergraduate academic degree programme that combines the study of physics, chemistry, and mathematics. This degree program aims to provide students with a strong foundation in these three fundamental sciences.
The curriculum of a B.Sc. (PCM) programme usually consists of core courses in physics, chemistry, and mathematics, as well as elective courses that allow students to specialize in specific areas of interest. Some of the common core courses in a B.Sc. (PCM) programme include calculus, algebra, mechanics, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, quantum mechanics, atomic and molecular physics, inorganic and organic chemistry, and physical chemistry.
The program is designed to equip students with analytical and problem-solving skills that are essential for scientific research and development. The program also emphasizes hands-on learning through laboratory work and research projects, which enable students to apply theoretical concepts to practical problems.
Graduates of a B.Sc. (PCM) program may have a wide range of career opportunities available to them, including research and development in scientific industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and engineering. They may also choose to pursue further education in physics, chemistry, mathematics, or related fields at the graduate level. Other career paths for graduates of this program may include teaching, data analysis, or consulting.
