A Bachelor of Science (Hons. - Chemistry) is an undergraduate degree program that focuses on the study of the composition, properties, and behavior of matter. The Arunachal University of Studies is offering this programme in dual mode i.e. B.Sc. (Hons. - Chemistry) & B.Sc. (Hons. Research - Chemistry). This programme is designed to equip students with a strong foundation in chemistry and prepare them for careers in various fields such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemical engineering, materials science, and many others. The Students of this Programme will be eligible for pursuing 1 Year Master of Science (Chemistry) programme from the University. Also, the students who will score more than 75% or equivalent grade in programme will be eligible for pursuing Ph.D. programme directly without Masters Degree.
The duration of the programme is typically four years, during which students will take courses in various subfields of chemistry such as organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry. Additionally, students will also take courses in recon science group mathematics, physics or life science group zoology, botany and other related sciences to support their understanding of chemistry.
Apart from coursework, students will also be involved in laboratory work, where they will perform experiments, analyze data, and develop practical skills in chemistry. In their final year, students may have the opportunity to undertake a research project or a capstone project that allows them to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world problems.
Upon completion of the programme, graduates may pursue careers in industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemical manufacturing, materials science, and many others. Alternatively, they may also pursue postgraduate studies such as a Master's degree or a Ph.D. in Chemistry or related fields.
The Candidates willing to exit Bachelor of Science (Hons. - Chemistry) programme after three years under reckon science group may apply for B.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) Degree or under life science group may apply for B.Sc. (Zoology, Botany, Chemistry) from the University. This is an undergraduate academic degree programme that combines the study of either three subjects of reckon science including Chemistry or three subject of life science including Chemistry.
