The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of the University offers a wide range of comprehensive academic programmes with a large selection of Humanies and Social Science subjects. The innovave yet rigorous curriculum is structured to allow students to obtain in-depth training of a major, yet at the same me gain valuable exposure to cross-disciplinary training in and outside the University. The post graduate curriculum allows students to engage in meaningful and original research, often with extensive fieldwork.

The financialization of the various sectors has created a space for economics graduate who are competent enough to take major decisions for big corporate houses. Catering to the needs of the corporate houses in North east, Arunachal University of Studies had initiated a progressive programme on economics for master students. The programme gives equal importance to both aspects of subjectivity, theory and quantitative techniques. The university aims to promote a culture of research on issues related to contemporary society. The department provides a heterogeneous gamut of faculty belonging to different background as it believe in the principle of heterodox economics. The specialization papers on which specialisations are provide are agricultural economics and agrarian issues, Mathematical economics, statistics and development economics and others. The students of economics are competent enough to employ themselves in different avenues such as Banks, Insurance, NGOs, Corporate houses and MNCs and PSUs.
