*The title of the programme is approved u/s 22 of University Grants Commission (UGC) Act 1956.
Science can be defined as a systematic study and investigation of natural phenomena and occurrences by way of observation, theoretical explanation as well as experimentation. A scientific study of any phenomena involves careful observation, formulation of hypotheses, conducting experiments to test and prove the hypotheses and henceforth drawing conclusions that confirm or deny the hypothetical assumption. Such scientific studies help in the formulation of universal laws that help humans to know more about the world we live in and how various natural processes and phenomena occur.
Science is a vast field and concerns almost everything that our eyes can see or cannot see. Everything in the universe can be studied under the field of science.
There was an incredible response received from the youth of the State of Arunachal Pradesh when the University conducted the first INSPIRE Programme for the candidates aspiring to pursue their career in the field of Science. At present, the University is offering a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science under the Faculty of Science. The science students have the advantage of gaining employment in the Pharma sector, which is a high growth sector.
The students pursuing their academics in Science can opt various career options available in fields such as Defense, Para-military, Nursing, Teaching, Information Technology, Engineering, Medical Science, Bio-Informatics, Pharmacy, etc.
The Master of Science in Chemistry leads directly off of the graduation program with opportunities of pursuing career-oriented knowledge attainment and capabilities across multiple sub-fields. These include organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, green and environmental varieties upon which exceptional understanding of how transformation of matter and substances happen shall hold central concern. The course is laid out over a period of two years, and it consists of four distinct semesters- from the third of which all AUS students must undertake a specialized avenue across the fields of inorganic, organic and or physical chemistry respectively.
The students could also pursue additional elective subjects, which they might perceive as being essential to project towards the proper improvement and increase as a professional of the field. The Arunachal University of Studies is replete with many new innovative infrastructures in the form of laboratories and equipment are present. These shall inherently aid all students to focus upon their practical skills, which are greatly important under any specific views of consideration. Culmination to exceptional scientific research, which shall only increase the stature of a concerned individual, as well as the institution becomes a greatly consequential aspect of pursuing education in chemistry.
The relevant and current topics also feature, and constitute an important aspect of the entire educational offering. This shall inimitably require application of state-of-the-art and cutting edge technological applications, all of which shall be quite exceptionally handled by AUS. The post-graduates in the university could then direct their focus to any lane of further career progression they might wish for. That’s very important as this university wants all of its students to be able to achieve maximum of the potential and capabilities across the board. Moreover, this M.Sc. course is as such so that the students are always best prepared to enter a Ph.D. program if they actually wish to do so.
B.Sc. (relevant) or eq.
The M.Sc. in Chemistry certainly offers a great variety of opportunities that any post-graduate from AUS can pursue. It might imply a teaching position at a school or a college in chemistry departments. Moreover, the course also indicates a higher attainment or possession of knowledge as professional chemist, which inimitably reflects Technical or Chemical Assistant job position respectively across a number of employment settings like Research Laboratories, specific chemical production plants, pharmaceutical companies, as well as Government boards and authorities.
