Science can be defined as a systematic study and investigation of natural phenomena and occurrences by way of observation, theoretical explanation as well as experimentation. A scientific study of any phenomena involves careful observation, formulation of hypotheses, conducting experiments to test and prove the hypotheses and henceforth drawing conclusions that confirm or deny the hypothetical assumption. Such scientific studies help in the formulation of universal laws that help humans to know more about the world we live in and how various natural processes and phenomena occur.

Science is a vast field and concerns almost everything that our eyes can see or cannot see. Everything in the universe can be studied under the field of science.

There was an incredible response received from the youth of the State of Arunachal Pradesh when the University conducted the first INSPIRE Programme for the candidates aspiring to pursue their career in the field of Science. At present the University is offering Bachelor of Science and Master of Science under the Faculty of Science. The science students have the advantage of gaining employment in Pharma sector, which is a high growth sector.

The students pursuing their academics in Science can opt various career options available in fields such as Defense, Para-military, Nursing, Teaching, Information Technology, Engineering, Medical Science, Bioinformatics, Pharmacy etc.

The primary motivation for pursuing Environmental Science as a career specific education degree like that of M. Sc. has immense variance in options. But, the overall philosophy of the innate motivation behind such a course degree remains the same, and it has immense significance on building strong foundations, which could derive environmental viewpoints and solutions. These may cover such defined subject bases as physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology. Another essential aspect of this specific avenue of learning mainly considers directing essential capabilities and skills toward monitoring, modeling and analysis of all major environmental components that occur in nature. Risk assessment in a corrective and acceptable fashion also constitutes major components of this course at Arunachal University of Studies.

Ecosystems and the many relationships that seemingly uphold a certain balance may occur in many different forms. These encapsulate the course of M. Sc. in Environmental Science based upon the following outcomes with relevance to students.

  • Achieve a common goal for the proper beneficence of the entire environment of Earth with multi-disciplinary perspectives becoming established in a correct fashion.
  • Students shall be able to monitor, model and analyze different aspects of the ecosystem, or the entire Earth as its own same thing to understand and comprehend proper state of affairs.
  • To address and act upon essential waste management strategies and projects through which technological understanding about examples like GIS, remote sensors and waste recycling units all work conducive to one another.
  • To be able to conduct proper biodiversity analyses across the board in order to properly find innate and natural relationships over different resources and beings.
  • To be able to conduct necessary requirements or inspirational perspectives toward research, effectively indicating the proper mastery of such statistical tools as SPSS, MATLAB etc., as well as ICP-OES, AAS, GC, HPLC etc.
  • To critically address and tackle differential environment issues, which may arise at any given time, as well as at any place for which proper research achievements could be reached.

Career Path :-

Environmental science is a field of education that’s inherently multidisciplinary, which inherently indicates that future scope, whether they’re in education or occupation, have a great deal of opportunities. As a professional, the opportunities lie across specific Pollution boards, including CPCB and SPCB. The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is the most consequential organization in this country, and employment in it is certainly a possibility. However, there are also several autonomous organizations active prominently where any post-graduate can get the opportunity for succeeding in his/her career. These include the NBRI, CSIR Labs, NEERI, ATREE, IARI, etc. The opportunities for pursuing environmental science at the doctorate level essentially encapsulates all the necessary indicators for additional educational opportunities in one’s own career.
