World Pharmacists Day” on 25th September 2021

The Faculty of Medical Sciences, Arunachal University of studies has celebrated “The World Pharmacists Day” on 25th September 2021 on the theme “Pharmacy: Always trusted for your health”. The Program was organized in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Pharmacy Council at AUS. The purpose of the program was to create awareness of the role of Pharmacists and to give respect to all pharmacists for their hard work and the service they provide to society

The program was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor of AUS, in the presence of Shri HN Dubey Director (PR) AUS, Prof. Hernewal, Dean Faculty of Educations and Special Education, Prof. Anil Kumar, Prof Shivam Chaturvedi, Shri Mahadev Jana, Joint Secretary Arunachal Pradesh Pharmacy Council, other invited Pharmacists, Pharmacy students and the AUS faculty. The program started with ceremonial lamp lighting. Ms Pinky Devi, HOD Faculty of Medical Sciences welcomed all the dignitaries and invitees. She highlighted the importance of the World Pharmacist Day celebration and the purposes of the program.


Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr B. Mohan Kumar delivered the Inaugural speech. He explained the origin of the Pharmacy sector, its history and the current importance of Pharmacists in today’s society. He applauded the pharmacists for their dedicated services throughout the country. Shri HN Dubey, Director (PR), delivered a short speech on the importance of pharmacists in our society. Mr Ravi Kumar Rajan, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Pharmacy spoke on the “Role of Pharmacists in Health Care”. He highlighted the scope and role of Pharmacists in the Health Care sector in India and abroad. Mr Sanjiv Debnath, Senior Pharmacist, District Hospital Namsai shared his experience, his life journey as a pharmacist and the challenges as a pharmacist during the pandemic.



Students from the Pharmacy department presented a role play on “Social awareness while taking medicine”. The message of the skit highlighting the dangers of self-medication. “The Best Pharmacist Award” in District Namsai was given to Shri Mahadev Jana by the Honorable Vice- Chancellor and Director (PR) Shri HN Dubey.
