Faculty of Commerce & Management and the Research Cell of AUS, Namsai jointly has successfully organized two-day National Conference on “Sustainable Development of India” from 12th to 13th Nov 2021. During the Conference total 50 papers were presented by the Research and Academic fraternity from all over the India in the fields of sustainable development through Education, Agriculture and Economy.
Prof. B. Mohan Kumar eminent Agriculturist, former ADG, ICAR and VC AUS chaired the technical session with Dr. Chaitanya Bora, Principal, Tinsukia Commerce College as Guest of honour and Dr. Manas Kr. Jana, HOD of Commerce, Indira Gandhi Government College, Tezu as Guests of honour.
"Sustainability is just not environmentalism; it is indeed, a holistic approach and focuses on social equity and economic development and other related issues besides environmental conservation" - said hon'ble VC during the welcome speech.
Dr. Chaytanya Bora highlighted India’s initiatives under Sustainable Development Goals also known as the Global Goals that were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call faction to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
Dr. Manas Kr. Jana emphasized instilling the idea of sustainable development at the grassroots level by focusing on three main sectors of economic growth, environmental stewardship and social inclusion.
In the past, Arunachal University of Studies has always been instilling the ideologies of sustainability in the day-to-day campus activities. This programme weaved an opportunity for the research scholars and faculty members for professional interaction with the experts.
