Namsai: 7th March 2023: A group of 35 APST BPL youth, trained in Fashion Designer and Sewing Machine Operator programmes, at World Education Mission (WEM), Namsai, left for placement to Bengaluru today. The girls were part of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojna (DDU-GKY), a skill development program implemented by World Education Mission (WEM) in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural Development and Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM). During the seeing-off ceremony, Chief Guest, Nang Urmila Manchekhun, ZPC, Namsai, urged them to work hard and make their parents and the state of Arunachal Pradesh proud. Prof. D.S. Hernwal, Vice-Chancellor, AUS, offered his best wishes to all the trainees and wished them good luck and success for their future. The group of trainees is accompanied by WEM officials Ms. Hiya Moran and Mr. Sujit Gope. WEM offers free of cost skill training to BPL, APST youth from all across Arunachal Pradesh in Fashion Designer and Sewing Machine Operator programmes. Till date, WEM has trained 154 APST and BPL youth and placed 72 trainees.
