Namsai, 29th January 2024: Department of Pali & Buddhist Studies, Arunachal University of Studies, in collaboration with Department of History, Arunachal University of Studies organized a special lecture on 29th January 2024 on ‘From Ancient Wisdom to Modern Solutions – Buddhism’s Contribution to Global Harmony, International Peace and Justice’. Dr. Biplab Tripathy, Assistant Dean, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, AUS, welcomed the audience with a warm welcome speech. Ven. Kosala Mahathero, In-charge of Innao Khamti Buddhist Monastry, Diyun, Changlang, Ven. Panyajota Thero, In-charge of Kaisu Buddhist Monastry, Namsai, Ven. Indasara Bhikku, Hufai Buddhist Monastry, Namsai, Ven. Indrajit Bhikku, Nampong Buddhist Monastry, Namsai, were the invited guests to the program.
Dr. Amit Kr. Tiwari, HoD, Department of History, gave the introductory speech and highlighted the relevance of Buddhist Philosophy in contemporary geo-politics. The program carried on with the keynote speech by Dr. Aniruddha Babar, Senior Academician, Department of Political Science, Testo College, Chumoukedima, Nagaland & Director Project Constitutional Justice, Tuensang, Nagaland. He explained Buddhist philosophy and conflict resolution in a lucid manner to the present audience. He also talked about psychology of war and how it come in to practice. A total of 60 students participated in the event and got benefited with the wise words of Dr. Babar. The program came to an end with a vote of thanks by Kyawsu Mog, HoD, Department of Pali & Buddhist Studies, AUS.
